Hi people, today I’m going to talk about my favorite piece of technology!

Today, everyone have a cellphone, this is a piece that serves for almost everything. I use my cellphone not only for make calls or see my Facebook or Gmail, I have apps that serve me in my daily activities. For example, an application where I see sports scores instantly call Score.

Music, photos, social networks, messages or Whatsapp, the cellphone is there when you are bored and you don't know what to do. I think that all we stay in the cellphone for hours and suddenly you see the hour and think "seriously? am I passed five hours watching videos on Youtube?".

However, is unpleasant when you are with someone or eating and you see the other people use te cellphone all the time, that is not right.

My experience

It's a sad thing for me to write this last entry. It's been a very hard semester, but it's only a few weeks before holidays. I've been a little lazy but I'm looking forward to improve.
In English classes I learnt to talk more spontaneously, a lot of vocabulary and also I have a better writing. Besides, I'd like to thank the teacher for his patience, for solving all the issues I once had.
I really liked to work with so many different topics and getting to know the interest of my mates. The entry I enjoyed the most was the the one I wrote about the monumental stadium. It's a very special place for me.
I hope to take the level 4 of this class next year and keep improving. I'll also try to watch more tv series or movies in English so I can learn more vocabulary and get better at my pronunciation.
One of my dreams is going to the United States to study. For sure, it'll be easy now, but I feel like I have a lot to improve and I can't go knowing so little, I believe it'll be really hard to me to communicate with people.
Well, I hope you've enjoyed the topics of this blog as much as I did. It's super fun to know other people's opinions so this way we all grow a little.

The temple

Hi people, today I’m going to talk about my favorite place in Santiago!

I don’t know if it’s very conventional, but I love it. His name is Estadio Monumental. It’s a sacred place for many people like me. It’s the field of Colo Colo, the most popular team in the country.

I went for the first time in 2005 with my dad and my mom. That day, Colo Colo defeated Everton in a match with many goals. I was very nervous and scared because the stadium was giant and so noisy. I was very happy because I met my soccer idol, Matias Fernandez. He is a great player and also a good person.

Currently, I go every weekend with my friends. Before the match, we met at my house to drink beer. Then we take the subway in Station Santa Isabel for go to the stadium. We like to sing and support the team during the entire game.

When I go I forget all my problems. For me it is amazing to be there. I can’t compare it to anything. I feel very happy when I look around and I see thousands of people who share the same passion.

Guachumania

Hi people, today I’m going to talk about my favorite band!

Guachupe is a Chilean band formed in Santiago in 1999. They were influenced by latin rock, ska and cumbia. The band was born in Maipú and is formed by four members: Tomás Maldonado, Robinson Acuña and the brothers Nelson y Rodrigo Alveal.

They have four albums. My favorite is Estamos todos en la trampa. My favorite song is called Euforia because it is very energetic and cheerful. Always I hear in my free time. Besides that song was the song of my alarm clock. Also, I recommend listen the song Nada es tan grave, because it has an interesting melody and a good lyric.

With my college friends went to a concert recently. It was at the Caupolican Theatre with five thousand fans in the public. People brought flags, balloons and shirts like a soccer fans. It’s s a magnificent party.

I have many friends who are fans of the band for example my friends Enrique, Camilo and Manuel. When we get together to study, we listen full album for get concentration.

A really good website!

Hi people, today I’m going to talk about my favorite website!


El Grafico is a classic Argentine sports magazine, you can read that each month. Is one of the most recognized in Latin America on the sports field.


This sports magazine is focused on football, but also included news about other sports including athletics, rugby, tennis, boxing, basketball, motor racing and women's field hockey.

In 2007 I went to Argentina with my family. In that trip I met this magazine in a newsstand near the Obelisco. On the cover I saw one of my top football idols, Juan Roman Riquelme. He’s considered one of the best playmakers of his generation. It was impossible not to buy it.


After that episode, I began to look for more online publications. It was great for me to discover a page with so much content.


The section I like is called 100x100. In this part, you can find interviews of 100 questions to different people from the world of football. It is one of the most popular sections of the magazine.


Currently, I visit the site each day. Every day I go to search interesting publications. I never leave disappointed. If I find something interesting, I recommend it to my friends who also love football.

My pets

Hi people, today I’m going to talk about my pets!

Esperanza came to the house nine years ago. She is a Poddle Toy. His daughter Matilde is also our pet. They are an important part of our family. My mom loves they like another son. She’s definitely a dog lover. Our house will not be the same without them.

When they arrived was so little, but now they are tall. Although no much, because Poddle Toys are always small.  

Esperanza is the cutest dog ever. While I’m studying English, she lies beside me. She is like a daughter to me. I take care of them, I give his food, I bath her and even cut his hair. She’s very friendly and so elegant. When I get older, I want to bring with me.

Matilde is very special. She loves my little sister. They always play. Also they go for a walk to the park which is near my house. She has been very sick lately. Yesterday my dad took her to the vet. Thanks God, it’s nothing complicated.

The best day ever

This photo is a memory of one of the best days of my life. It was a day after my birthday. ⁠⁠⁠It was the best gift I could have ask for. 

Copa America is the main international football tournament in South America, and took place in our country between 11 June and 4 July 2015.

This shot was taken by Andre Penner when Chile won the Copa America for the first time in our history after a dramatic penalty shootout against Lionel Messi's Argentina in the final in Santiago.

Alexis Sánchez, who scored the winning penalty, with the Copa América trophy after Chile’s victory. Right next to him are other players like Jean Beausejour, Jorge Valdivia, Jose "Pepe" Rojas and Felipe Gutierrez.

I'll never forget this day. The celebration with friends, the happiness of winning and thousands of people in the streets shouting: CHI CHI LE LE LE VIVA CHILE!

My favorite series: House of Cards

House of Cards is a political drama series of television. The story is about a world of greed, sex and corruption in Washington, D.C. It' s so exciting!

I watched this serie for first time in the summer of 2013, because I was sick and have a lot of free time in my home.

The series have a lot of characters, but the main ones are Frank and Carrie Underwood. A special couple!

After winning the presidential election, the elected President of the United States Garret Walker tells Frank that the agreement of naming Secretary of State will not be fulfilled. Frank, feeling betrayed and begins a strategy developed with his wife against Walker. 

It will not stop to be the most powerful man in the world. Frank must use any help to stay in the power and not fail prematurely. So amazing!

Until now, three seasons have been released, but next year will be the fourth available. I'm looking forward to that day!

Expectations for a new semester

Currently, I'm on my second year of college studying Journalism. I'm so excited for the experiences that I'm going to have this semester. 

I'm learning a lot of subjects like Photography or English, but my favourite is Multi-platform Journalism. I wish to learn as much as I can in this course, so then I will be able to apply this knowledge to my sport's website.

However, I would prefer spending time with my friends and family.

My hobbies are basketball, baseball, gymnastics, tennis and volleyball. And also I have a football team with my classmates, it's called Club Atletico Cenicero.

I have learnt a lot these past semesters , but I hope to improve more of my creativity and patience working hard. I'm looking forward for more challenges right now.

My Autobiography

My name is Cristobal Ugarte and I am 22 years old. I was born in Los Angeles, but I live in Santiago, the capital of Chile. 

My nuclear family is big but I have a lot of relatives. I live in Santiago but my family lives in Los Angeles, in the south of the country, so I visit them once a month.  

I have a beautiful family. I have one brother and one sister. My father’s name is Jaime and my mother’s name is Ginette. My sister’s name is Mariajosé and my brother’s name is Max.

When I was five years old I went to German School, and now I'm studying in Chile University.  I want to be a great journalist like my grandfather.

I like play football with my university’s friend, our team is called Club Atletico Cenicero. Also, I play tennis with my best friend Francisco. I like to watch television. My favorite show is El Informante.
